Rejected at plan check? Send the letter.
We diagnose and correct energy compliance rejections — including reports produced by other consultants — and assemble the resubmittal package.
The five rejections we see most
- The model does not match the drawings. Glazing areas, orientation, insulation values or equipment efficiencies disagree between the report and the plan set. Usually the plans changed after the report was run and nobody re-ran it.
- A ECC-verified measure was not flagged. The compliance model relies on a measure requiring field verification, and nothing in the package acknowledges it.
- Wrong code cycle. The report was modelled to the previous cycle when the permit application date puts the project on the current one.
- Wrong climate zone. Assigned by ZIP code, not by city — and cities frequently span more than one.
- Missing CALGreen. A complete Part 6 report with no Part 11 documentation at all.
What we need
The correction letter, the existing energy report, and the current plan set. We will tell you what plan check is actually asking for — correction letters are often terse to the point of being cryptic — and what it will take to resolve.
If we produced the original report, corrections are handled at no charge. That is not a promotion; it is what standing behind the work means.
